My wife and I have been patients at this surgery for many years. It is now very difficult to get an appointment with your Dr. of choice - recently I was seen by Dr. Jeganathan who could not spot the cause of my pain and diagnosed a fungal problem. I could only make an appointment with my Dr by waiting a month although as an emergency you can sometimes get one same day but it usually turns out to be a nurse-practitioner. Having a now severe problem not properly diagnosed -recently I complained about this and got a telling off from someone in the NHS but my Dr. was advised and when I visited expecting to see the nurse he called me in and said I had a source of infection which turned out to be a flair up from Psoriasis on my ankle and was treated with an antibiotic and started a course of dressings with the nurse. They decided my amlodipine treatment was making the situation worse because it made m,y ankles swell and I was passed to the nurse-practitioner who changed it to lissinoprene? to which I proved allergic and which made me ill and gave me a cough for weeks afterwards. So I stopped taking it and kept my appointment made a month before with my own Dr. who said my blood pressure had rocketed and started me on water tablets. My blood pressure is still in the 170s but I now have a referral to Brentwood Community Hospital for continuing treatment of my very painful ankle but there appears to be a waiting list. Meanwhile the nurses are changing my dressings once or twice a week. I have a serious problem that I am official carer to my disabled wife and am having an awful time coping and frightened of having a stroke or heart attack. I have asked who cares for a carer and the answer as on previous occasions when I have ended up in hospital with diverticulitis and a twisted bowel - is no-one and my wife is left high and dry and I lie in bed and worry.
