Very professional, very caring, very efficient - applies to all persons working at Cross Deep Surgery.
Having made several visits to Cross Deep Surgery I am very happy with the treatment that I have received from the GPs and Nurses - patient, friendly, understanding, always taking the time to listen and talk through my treatment. The presence of on-site scanning equipment is fantastic, saving both the patient and NHS time - and money? The surgery environment is clean and comfortable, and it is relatively easy to get an appointment... which brings me to the downside. I have found the receptionists at Cross Deep to be cold and unfriendly, bordering on rude. On numerous occasions I have often observed them leaving patients (including elderly/less mobile) waiting at reception unnecessarily, ignoring them while they complete a task that could be delayed/set aside temporarily to speak to the patient - why do this? The attitude of the receptionists, and their complete lack of customer care lets the other (exemplary) staff in the practice down. I feel very strongly that the practice manager needs to address this issue.
Some of the doctors are great, very thorough and do not rush you. It can be very difficult to get an appointment. Receptionists can be very abrupt and not very sympathetic.
I usually on
Y need to book blood tests and follow up appointment so can book well in advance. Not sure how quickly I could get an immediate appointment should the need arise.
Cross Deep Surgery was established over a hundred years ago and has seen many changes. The present surgery is modern and forward-thinking without having lost sight of the original, traditional values of care and commitment. When I hear about difficulties with appointments and "sorry your 7 minutes is up" from other surgeries, I count myself as very fortunate to be registered with Cross Deep. The doctors, nurses and staff will always find time and they treat patients as individuals not as numbers on a computer.
