Two years ago I would have given 5 stars to every answer, but there has been a significant shift and I now feel it is difficult to be able to see a GP when I need to, even when I try to book well in advance. When I do see a GP I have no idea who they are as I have never met them before and it seems impossible to see the same GP twice. The standard answer now seems to be go away and come back in x weeks/months if it hasn't improved. But it is impossible to get an appointment in the first place! The receptionists are as helpful as they can be and are always polite and respectful. What can they do if there is a shortage of appointment times? The best thing about the surgery is still the two senior practice nurses Lesley and Carmel. Carmel is fantastic and I have often seen her instead of a GP, especially with my children. She has also followed me up with telephone calls following on from consultations when she has been concerned to find out how I am doing. She seems to remember me from one year to the next (I do not regularly need appointments) and recalls what is 'normal' for me so is quick to pick up when things are not right with me that might not register with others.
