I visited the surgery at 8am this morning to request a repeat prescription for my steroid inhaler as I had run out and my asthma is out of control. The receptionist promised that it would be done at lunchtime and would be ready for me to collect from the Asda pharmacy this evening. However it was not. The surgery is closed over the weekend so I will have to go to the walk in centre and hope that they can provide an emergency prescription. This is not only poor customer service, it is appalling patient care. Asthma is a chronic health condition which, without the propper management, can be life threatening. I would sugget that this practice ought to review its policy regarding the treatment of patients with such conditions before its reckless disregard for the wellbeing of the patients in its care results in someone being hospitalised or worse.
