If you understand how the system works you can get an appointment every day. Since my retirement my health has deteriorated and Unfortunately I have used this service and found that Doctors and staff are trying their utmost to help everyone. The biggest “gripe” I find is patients complaining about Doctors overrunning! BUT think about it..... How would you like any Doctor to turn around and say to you half way through your appointment “ sorry time’s up” !!! Doctors give YOU the time as they have done for me SO if I sit waiting for an hour - so be it. Thank God we have a great surgery and team. I am very grateful

Dear All Castle Donington Surgery residents, I would like to highlight to all residents of Castle Donington, if for whatever reason the clinical relationship does not work out unless they allocate you a GP surgery which is likely to be Westcoates in Leicester , automatically you can currently only register with the Nottingham NEMS. In an ideal world you should be able to register at Belton, Long Eaton, Melbourne or Kegworth. The normal practice is to look on NHS choices website, call the practice or put your postcode onto the individual practices website and hope that yours comes up but West Leicestershire CCG and NHS in writing openly admit that this is a problem that is not being fixed. In an ideal world it is great if the clinical relationship is working out but you need to be aware of what occurs if this does not. It will be interesting to hear from the surgery as to what their response to this problem is on what they are doing working with their local partners to ensure there is more choice for local residents. Overall, the surgery is excellent with very good clinical and front line staff however this is an issue that should be brought to the public's attention.
