Having recently moved to another area, I wanted to leave a last review to say how excellent Bourne Galletly Practice is. All the Dr’s are friendly, efficient and always have time for you. Treatment is swift, and you are in safe hands. Over the years the surgery have seen me and my family, with two young children they were always very good and if they were unsure sought advice and referred us quickly. I have a great deal of admiration and thanks for all the Drs and staff who make Bourne Galletly Practice such a great Surgery. Having health support within your community like this is essential. Thank you.

Trying to get an appointment with a specific person is nigh on impossible unless you're sat at home all day spamming the phone line. Many people who pay taxes for these services do not have the luxury to do this. I have the NHS app as well and appointments never appear here for me, or if they do they are for the wrong person. You make the appointment with this person and they will make a note for the clinician to call you back. You will then receive a text saying please call the clinician on DD/MM/YYYY. You try to tall the practice and the lines are busy or they are on a black alert. I've been trying this process for approximately six months to get a follow up appointment for my scan results. Today I finally managed to get through to reception only to be told by the snotty receptionist that 'with all due respect sir, I don't believe you've really been trying to contact us for six months'. I know it's not her fault for the system that they use, and I didn't blame her for the situation, but her disgusting retort nearly brought me to tears as I have been living with chronic pain due to this illness for over 6 months. It's really not like me to complain which is probably why I've been fobbed off for so long. Even after the receptionist stated this, I apologised to her as she sounded annoyed that I was lying to her? I don't know what's happened to this practice, I used to get fantastic care from all the members of the team. I understand that things are overwhelmed with high demand at the minute but there should be a facility for pre-booking of appointments, especially when the practice are texting me to arrange them! I don't even know what to do.. maybe get addicted to painkillers and suffer from mental health problems due to the situation, I'm sure that will be much less resourceful on the NHS. Maybe this is all a ploy to try and get more people to pay for private healthcare and lessen the burden on the nhs. Maybe it's a failing technocratic system that they simply can't admit is broken. Who knows, but I'm not blaming an increase in population like certain newspapers would like you to, the NHS is starved from the top down and this sort of situation is the consequence. I don't want to be fully negative as despite the problems I have had with arranging an appointment for this medical issue, I have been able to see nurse practitioners in the meantime for other minor things and they have been friendly and very helpful (despite not being able to arrange my follow up appointment). The doctors at this practice are also fantastic and I'm sure I would be triaged to them if required.
