I visited Sutton Benger surgery this morning having got an appointment with Dr. Church. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, making me feel relaxed. Dr. Church listened to all my concerns and took appropriate action…. so I left the surgery a contented patient. Well done, a commendable turn around after a few very difficult years. Barbara Land

In the process of moving surgeries as not acceptable that a child should have to wait to long for appointment mixed communication from gp ,nurse and reception not listening to parental views on medication at all even when evidence stated and suggestion by pharmacy and 111 rude in responses via messages no face to face asthma review for 3 years or more for one of my children currently awaiting a referral to chest clinic at hospital a long process to get through to anyone

Suggested improvements
Better communication better understanding of a parent views as they are with the child all the time faster responses and back up plans regarding medication not hiding behind txt messages to be passed on via reception

The length of time waiting for someone to answer the telephone is not acceptable anything from 20- 60 minutes and to wait over a month for a face to face appointment is also unacceptable. The staff and doctors are very good, when you can get to see or talk to them

Suggested improvements
More receptionist to answer the telephone

System is totally broken at this surgery. Both me, my partner and my children have tried to get appointments in recent weeks to be faced with a huge amount of unnecessary barriers. Firstly you wait on hold for ages and ages. To then Say they will get a community pharmacist to call you because they can prescribe but in reality I’ve spoke to 3 different ones who all couldn’t prescribe anything and even they say they get this all the time from the surgery and they cannot prescribe only things like throat spray but not antibiotics my partner needed for tonsillitis. I waited for 4 weeks for a call to book an appointment from the booking team for an urgent issue! Then my 8 year old daughter is currently in severe pain with an ear infection and we’ve wanted 48 hours for a call back with an appointment to be told to call 111 if we don’t want to wait. Absolutely disgusting and a total joke. Fobbed off constantly, pass the buck, waste time by passing you around the houses whereas if you just get seen by the doctor in the first instance then all these other people’s time wouldn’t be wasted and the patient wouldn’t suffer!

I would not give this one star if I had the choice. The system for appointments is shambolic. We now have to try and contact the receptionist (impossible unless you visit in person) who then initiate another level of bureaucracy. A third third party is supposed to send an e mail with suggested dates. My wife did this. Nothing received after 5 days. Visited again. Nothing received after 3 days. We phone 111 - get an appointment for next day at Sutton Benger which is miles away but better than nothing. Ms Taylor I have read the feed back going back to 2021. It does not make good reading and you are not new now.

Suggested improvements
All of it. My name is Cliff Bassett by the way - not anonymous so you cannot leave the excuse that you can do nothing about contacting me. I am happy for you to do so.
