This review is about the reception area. It's a few years since I visited the surgery & last time I was there it was very dark & dingy, so the bright blue chairs & light flooring are a huge improvement and make the room lovely & bright & fresh. However - who designed the layout ? It's terrible! 1) The two middle rows of chairs should be turned around to face into the surgery. 2) If you must notify patients that the doctor is ready for them via a tv screen, at least put it where everyone can see it. And if the chairs are turned around to face the other way, there's a huge space on the back wall where it could be placed. 3) And what about a clock? Surely you're not worried about patients knowing how long theyve been waiting? 4) As for the frosted glass screen - someone's done an ace job of making it an 'us and them' reception area, haven't they? Beaumont Park used to be a lovely friendly surgery to go into. Now? ... You come in and tap your details into a computer, then sit in an unwelcoming reception are with a huge glass wall making sure you can't see any members of staff - it's all so impersonal. I find it very sad. And not even one magazine in the waiting room to clutter up the place. I think whoever designed the new reception area seems to have forgotten that the people using it are people, not boxes to be stacked. Great shame
