I have always found the care and treatment I receive at Auchtermuchty more than satisfactory. The admin staff are friendly and efficient, the nurses are very kind and skilled at what they do, and the doctors are lovely as well. I know I am being listened to and given the best possible attention and treatment from them. The one complaint I have - and it is not a complaint about the staff at all. It is the appointments system. It's absolutely impossible to get a quick appointment. Appointments are filled days - sometimes weeks - in advance and that's no use at all if you're ill and you need to see a doctor. Fortunately there is an open surgery one morning a week but a wait of two hours isn't unusual because it's so busy... and when you're not feeling well, that can seem like a very long time. As I have said, this is nothing to do with the staff. With the huge number of patients on the surgery's list, there's just not enough medical staff to cover the workload. The current government talks itself up about the huge support it's giving to the NHS but I can't see any of the money they say they're investing in health arriving at the door of Auchtermuchty surgery and that's a shame because the staff deserve it and so do the patients.

I think everyone does a grand job. I can't think of anything that could be done better except a better appointments system... and I fully understand that would require additional staffing.

You need to predict when you are going to be ill as normally takes at least 3 weeks to get an appointment with a doctor. From experience some of the newer doctors do not read your medical notes before you attend and jump to incorrect solutions which you then have to wait another 3 weeks to see a different doctor to get it corrected. Not good.

I find the receptionists at this surgery extremely rude. They do not seem to take into consideration what families are going through and show no empathy. I only deal with this surgery through my father and I am so thankful that I am registered at another surgery as I know the one that I am with is totally different and so helpful. I would add that I have no problem with the doctors but the receptionists need to be given some customer service training.

Congratulations once again to all the staff at Auchtermuchty Health Centre for running an extremely slick and efficient annual Flu Jab day. Their arrangements, administration and teamwork are just superb! All the staff involved are a credit to the centre and to the people of Auchtermuchty. Thank you one and all.
