I have been a patient for 10 years and can’t fault the doctors and nurses. I have always had good experiences with them, received excellent service and advice and would certainly recommend from that perspective. What I am struggling with is the continuously rude, unhelpful and uninformed receptionist. Each time I ring for an appointment, I am left frustrated and flabbergasted and rarely achieve what I need. I get information that is often wrong, misleading or half the story and she can’t get me off the phone quickly enough. Recent examples include unnecessary hassle when arranging 2 dive medicals. We ended up following two different processes, with two different payment amounts and doctors giving advice that differed from the advice given by reception...all whilst I was made to feel like a 3 year old. Another example is that I just failed to book an out of hours appointment. I held for 10 minutes on the phone this morning, to be then told it wasn’t possible, to then argue about the information leaflet which clearly says that it is possible and can be arranged by calling the surgery as usual...then she agrees after asking a colleague, then she asks me to ring back in the afternoon, just to tell me she can’t do it.... Not acceptable!
