Some of the reception staff I've found to be rude and unhelpful - although perhaps not having enough appointments, and ringing phones in the background is frustrating for them too. I've often got to the front of the queue only to be told that the receptionist will answer the phone. When I've tried to call to make an appointment or get test results - often the phone just rings and rings - and that's not at peak morning time. When one finally gets to see a doctor (I don't think I've seen the same one twice) the ones I've met are all generally knowledgable, caring and helpful.
