The nursing staff excellent. Senior doctors poor and rude, one of whom has left thank goodness. New doctors good. It is time that GPs were used at hospitals as triage, which is all they do presently. Surgeries could be run as effectively at considerably less expenditure to us by the nurse practitioners who want to do the job, like doing the job, have human skills and much more effective. The NHS needs a huge shake up, lateral thinking for the benefit of us all, currently system is useless and expensive. GPs earn huge sums of money and do very little for it, when was the last time your GP went over and above for you? If they did it's a rarity. Look at their web page, not current, shows doctors who have left, nothing current and interesting. This practice goes through the motions but does not deliver unless you are lucky to catch them on an exceptionally rare day and they are polite, not caring, just civil. Dreadful set up overall but with some respect to patients, some planning, more changes of senior doctors and wow it could excel. It currently has a horrible atmosphere, staff look disgruntled and if it wasn't for the nursing staff the practice would be in the gutter.

Couldn't wish for a better GPs' surgery. Since the rating questions above fail to include a question about the nurses I would like to add a big Thank You to all the nurses at Arblair Medical Practice for doing a terrific job and providing a great service aleays with a smile.

The practice has really gone down hill over the past decade, and I really don't like it now, and would not recommend. Every time I phone, the receptionists have differing opinions about everything, the surgery's policy on things etc. You get a very cool reception if their opinion is different from what another receptionist has said. It's different with every receptionist! This is very poor communication. I am disabled and have several dibilitating illnesses. For years now, friends can't believe that I virtually get no treatment and no pain relief! I have to do my own research, and then ask the doctor if I can try this or try that. It just goes around in circles, with me retrying drugs that i have been on before. I've even had times when the doctor hasn't even heard of a common blood test! I am so ill that I can barely survive every day life, and yet, I have been belittled and apparently disbelieved by various doctors here. It makes you feel like giving up! Doctor's notes on my appointments have been virtually non existent, so I have to make sure I make my own notes, which doesn't get done very well, as I am too ill all the time. Despite my continuining deterioration, I am now getting less appointment time, and less annual blood tests, despite me being deficient in various things in past years. Going to the doctor when you have a chronic, debilitating illness, should be an encouraging experience, and one where you feel that at least you are cared for, and that they are doing everything possible to try and help. This is not my experience at all. The doctors are not proactive in any way, in I have absolutely no faith in the surgery, the doctors or my treatment plan....which is non existent.
