TERRIBLE and purposefully UNHELPFUL on every possible level. A non-medical staff member told me not to go for an X-Ray on the day I went to collect the hard copy of the referral from the GP because they will not email the hospital until later that day because they are too busy answering phones. Now I want my x-ray results and they are unable to pick up the email and unwilling to even check that the results the Hospital has told me they had already sent 3 days ago and very helpfully RESENT twice today, has arrived via email. Apparently they can only access the emails at 1pm the following day. When I asked what happens if the emails fail go through again tomorrow - I was told to check the day after! I THOUGHT THE NHS aka national HEALTH SERVICE is supposed to provide a SERVICE that ????might??? ????PROMOTE HEALTH??? Clearly I am 100% wrong. Can I please have the option to OPT out of PAYING for a NON-HEALTH NON-SERVICE!!!! I want my money back so I can go private where I can pay someone to care. PS: Just want to say the GP / Doctor was actually very helpful - just sad the rest of the staff are not and adding to the world's stress - imagine if I was suicidal where this experience could lead to... DISGRACEFUL!

Suggested improvements
Don't do a receptionist job if you are not capable of being helpful or if you have no desire to be decent, friendly and supportive to people dealing with health issues - COVID did NOT ONLY affect the NHS - it affects EVERYONE - RECOGNISE THIS!!! Check your emails. Pick up the phone. Don't have non-medical staff tell patients when to go for x-rays or when not to (THE GP ALREADY SAID AN X-RAY IS REQUIRED, WHO ARE YOU TO SAY DIFFERENTLY????) - and especially not because you can't be bothered to send an email! Make even a 1% attempt to be helpful - it will make your life easier and will reduce the mental health issues of the whole population massively. (I won't be surprised if dealing with receptionists in the NHS causes a major part of the mental health and suicidal events for people these days - they would be the straw that broke the camel's back - guaranteed)
