I received a telephone call from one of the GPs indicating a telephone consultation is required before my repeat prescription is renewed, but meantime he would approve a further two weeks' supply of my medication (great!). When I call to make an appointment for telephone consultation, I am told there are none until after 18th Feb or that I should call at 8:30 in the morning to get a same-day appointment (obviously I don't need a same-day appointment - keep these for folks that do). Have you ever tried calling at 8:30 in the morning??? Many of us have jobs to do..... The calendar for week beginning 21st Feb is not open yet...so I must call back later. Because I have nothing better to do with my time.... We know you are overwhelmed, but there must be a more efficient system for patients and surgery staff. Given that a GP has invited my appointment within two weeks, why can't I simply make one online using a passcode or something? If I don't get one before 21st Feb, my prescription will have run out - how do I deal with that?
