I have been with this practice over the past 12-13 years n at first I felt judged but I’m on methadone as a recovering drug addict and in all my experiences with receptionist have been fine ,..often cheery n well mannered but the doctors do take longer with patients and then others may wait a bit later than alloyed time but that is what decent healthcare is about as we can’t all explain n be diagnosed in 15 min time window...doctor Davidson has since retired n I am now with dr sultans who I see as a great doctor who takes time to listen n help...also the receptionist are very polite and helpful but please understand they get the flack if timing is slightly later than stated....often I leave feeling looked after n cared for by both receptionist and doctors n some of these reviews I read are a real shame as this is the best practice In maryhill by far with the non judgemental receptionist bieng a big part of the helpful positive experience I get every month...please understand that with the covid pandemic ppl may wait longer or be spoken to quickly by receptionists as there are 3phone lines n only 2receptionists n miss Lorraine and other younger new receptionist are far better than other doctors receptionist in the area as I’ve been with a few but this is by far the best n I get fortnightly calls to check how I am n to inform me of any changes so I cannot accept the negative reviews I read as they are a tissue of lies by someone to used to getting their own way or ppl believing their more entitled than others waiting,calling or recieving treatment!!??this surgery’s the cleanest most professional doctors in the north west and some ppl need to think of others unwell to realise there are many reasons why they may need to wait slightly longer than the time stated...this is a clear sign of patients coming first so please don’t be deterred by negative comments by less informed or less patient individual n not a fault of doctors or receptionists ....your care n well bieng is paramount n I’m actually fuming ppl can slander doctors surgeries in this way because they didn’t get a red carpet rolled out or song n dance??THE HEALTHCARE AND ASSISTANCE BY RECEPTIONISTS ARE PERFECTLY FINE ALTHOUGH THEY DONT ALLOW OR TOLERATE ABUSE OR PEOPLE BELIEVING THEY ARE BETTER EQUIPPED TO DO WAT THEY DO WHOCH IS KEEP THE PATIENTS INFORMED N A PROFFESSIONAL MANNER SO ??I will be continuing to travel the 1-2 miles to go as it’s the best in the area n I’ve never had an issue with meds prescription appointments or anything so god bless the doctors n 2lovely receptionists who suffer abuse daily for nothing more than they are frontline were ppl complain if they need to wait ten mins more !!..but would they complain if their 10mins late??...as here you still get seen n the level of care is second to none...ie calling taxis fr patients n handing prescriptions into chemist next door to make waiting easier n quicker fr elderly and infirm ....Merry Xmas ladies from mr t Ohalloran thankyou fr your great service n care and the doctors are very relaxed n informal which helps ppl like me open up n seek the help I need!!!

Suggested improvements
  • NOTHING OTHER THAN WAITING TIMES BUT I STILL GetMY TIME WITH DOCTOR MAYBE THE PERSON BEFORE HAD JUST GOT BAD NEWS OR NEEDED MORE SUPPORT...waiting a little longer is a sign that the doctors listen n give the support n care needed and is a sign of a good surgery in my opinion n most are like cattle markets rushed in n rushed bk out but here they take care of patients and go further than most in listening n help you to leave knowing you have been listened to!!!unlike woodside n others in area I am stating as I left woodside fr the reasons I’ve stated above about feeling like a cattle market!!!!

I have no issues with cleanliness or hygiene there. The reception staff have extremely rude telephone manners and poor customer service skills. Every time asking why I am calling at a certain time of day - as if I have control over when sickness occurs. They are simply rude. The doctor I have seen is very hands off. They treat everyone as a time waster and make me feel like one every time I have called with legitimate reason. Finally, the health visitor has not been in contact for 6 months, while my son is overdue a visit. These are very basic care skills that I expect from a health centre and they fail to provide both as a patient and a parent. I will be leaving the surgery and do not recommend anyone to register.
