The receptionists are really rude, dismissive of patients. The practice manager is no better. He's rude to patients, refuses to see patients or keeps you waiting for hours before he comes down to attend to an issue that you have that the poor standard receptionists have already dismissed. This is really very concerning as he shows no leadership therefore it is not surprising that the reception staff in the practice behave exactly the same. It is a real shame because the doctors in the practice are really nice and helpful . I note that one lady has reported this practice in the icb who commissioned this practice full stop this sort of care is not sustainable

Suggested improvements
  • Train your staff in the reception and your practice manager in customer care and patient care they are very rude and dismissive of patients, very unhelpful. The practice manager should be leading by example what unfortunately and sadly he enables his staff to dismiss patients and be very rude.

TERRIBLE and purposefully UNHELPFUL on every possible level. A non-medical staff member told me not to go for an X-Ray on the day I went to collect the hard copy of the referral from the GP because they will not email the hospital until later that day because they are too busy answering phones. Now I want my x-ray results and they are unable to pick up the email and unwilling to even check that the results the Hospital has told me they had already sent 3 days ago and very helpfully RESENT twice today, has arrived via email. Apparently they can only access the emails at 1pm the following day. When I asked what happens if the emails fail go through again tomorrow - I was told to check the day after! I THOUGHT THE NHS aka national HEALTH SERVICE is supposed to provide a SERVICE that ????might??? ????PROMOTE HEALTH??? Clearly I am 100% wrong. Can I please have the option to OPT out of PAYING for a NON-HEALTH NON-SERVICE!!!! I want my money back so I can go private where I can pay someone to care. PS: Just want to say the GP / Doctor was actually very helpful - just sad the rest of the staff are not and adding to the world's stress - imagine if I was suicidal where this experience could lead to... DISGRACEFUL!

Suggested improvements
  • Don't do a receptionist job if you are not capable of being helpful or if you have no desire to be decent, friendly and supportive to people dealing with health issues - COVID did NOT ONLY affect the NHS - it affects EVERYONE - RECOGNISE THIS!!! Check your emails. Pick up the phone. Don't have non-medical staff tell patients when to go for x-rays or when not to (THE GP ALREADY SAID AN X-RAY IS REQUIRED, WHO ARE YOU TO SAY DIFFERENTLY????) - and especially not because you can't be bothered to send an email! Make even a 1% attempt to be helpful - it will make your life easier and will reduce the mental health issues of the whole population massively. (I won't be surprised if dealing with receptionists in the NHS causes a major part of the mental health and suicidal events for people these days - they would be the straw that broke the camel's back - guaranteed)

Extremely rude receptionist saying in terrible English and a terrible attitude, that you cant book future appointments and can only call 'on the day' for an appointment of 'the same day'. That seems ridiculous... if I understood them correctly. They couldn't seem to formulate a sentence to convey the correct message and when I tried to clarify what they meant, this receptionist just kept talking over me. It seems this surgery has a knack for employing the worst receptionists around.

My husband recently had to attend the surgery to have a wound cared for and dressed. we had several appointments and the attention and professionalism shown to us by nurse Susan Davies was beyond excellent. Her calm and caring attitude was very much appreciated and the wound healed well despite my husband being diabetic. Thanks Sue xxxx

The reception staff & the staff who manage the phones are very rude and un-helpful. They come across like they know better. I have wanted to change practice for quite a while now because of the reception staff. But I have found a doctor I really like and trust.
