Share review of Risperidone

I started taking risperidone six years ago following a psychotic episode that saw me admitted to hospital. I had stopped taking my previous medication, Abilify, as I felt it was subduing me too much. However since starting on the Risperidone, my voices have gradually diminished to the point where I can live a happy life. This has been achieved in conjunction with a programme of Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) with my psychologist. I have put on some weight since starting on the drug, but whether this is really due to the medication or just my lack of exercise I am not sure.
