This medication was given to me by the Oncology doctors at the Cancer Unit who were trating me for lung cancer. I completed my cancer treatment course (Immunotherapy), but several weeks after this, I developed 'gastric' problems for which this medication was given, at a very high dose. It made me feel even worse, each time I was told by Oncology to reduce the dose, the original symptoms returned. It should NOT be given to anyone with a history of depression, which I have. The doctors SHOULD check a patients medical records before using this medication. It has caused me nothing but constant gastric problems and contributed to increased, ongoing issues with my depression. I feel both betrayed and angry that due to the lack of medical checks by the doctors before putting me on this steroid, which has now caused further damage by affecting my Adrenal gland. To me, this steroid is pure poison and should not be used at such high doses and for a long period of time. The ongoing side effects this is causing me far outweigh it may have done if administered at a much lower dose. Please query why you may be prescribed it.
