I had a relapse of my DLBCL cancer only 5 months after finishing RCHOP. I took dexamethasone as part of the chemotherapy (RGBD). 40mg a hour before the infusions. I don't know what part each of the drugs in the cocktail played, but the solid lump tumours in my face and arm disappeared within two days of the 1st round being done. I had been on high dose prednisone (40mg/day) for a week before chemo started. Didn't feel any significant pain or nausea throughout the rounds of chemo. Did a MTB ride up to the top of a local peak the day after 1st chemo. I kept riding throughout my treatment, right up to the stem cell transplant. I was at work every day I wasn't at hospital. I took all of the drugs on the round schedule but didn't use the anti-nausea of painkillers if they were optional. I know other people have an awful time on chemo, but that wasn't my experience.
