Mr Patel carried out surgery to repair my distal bicep tear caused by a sporting injury. The appointments were at my local hospital Gatwick Spire and the surgery was at Spire St Anthony’s to enable it to be within 2 weeks of the injury. I had previously seen Mr Patel for another elbow injury, which he resolved and I was pleased to be under his care again. The care was excellent from the first consultation to the final post-surgery appointment. Mr Patel has a friendly and calm approach and clearly explained and answered all my questions. The surgery went to plan and my arm is almost back to full strength and function. I expect it to improve further over the coming months to be virtually as it was before the injury. It was comforting knowing that I was seeing an expert in the field especially as the repair was important for me to return to competitive sport. I would have no hesitation in recommending and Patel to anyone with a similar problem.

I had complete confidence in Mr Patel from the start. He gave me all the information & care possible from the first appointment until the last. I was given the option of having surgery for my broken shoulder which he recommended. I now have a very good range of movement (which should carry on improving) & only occasional minor discomfort. Mr Patel was very accommodating with my appointments - he saw me early when going on holiday soon after the operation & gave me advice & exercises to help. His secretary acquired the x-rays etc from NHS which I was struggling to get & moved appointments round so that I could get x-ray, physio and an appointment with Mr Patel one after the other as I was unable to drive. Mr Patel is a very approachable and gentle man and most importantly I am very please with the surgery he performed to insert a rod in my arm. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

never had a consultant and his team mess my care about so badly at st helier hospital. i am now going into 6 weeks since da aging my shoulder and Mr Patel and his team and hospital are the worst. i have had to ask my care changed to st georges in tooting as he and his team cannot get their act together. the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. no one reads the records. Obviously treated like this as i am not a private client. i am still in pain nearly 6 weeks later, all because he and his team have no idea what they are doing. very angry and now have to wait even longer now in pain.

I was in a lot of pain due to a frozen shoulder. Mr Patel helped me understand the issue and options and reassure me. Within 6months of treatment and physio, I have had a marked improvement in my movement and reduction in pain.
