Mr Makki performed the revision of a nasty clavicle fracture for me. He is very good at explaining the issues, the options, what to expect and how the healing process would progress, so that I always felt informed and was never apprehensive or fearful. Although he is obviously very busy, I never felt that I was being rushed, and he was very generous with his time, always explaining things at a level that I could understand. Clearly he is an excellent surgeon and doctor, but he is also a very kind, caring and friendly man. I am very grateful to him personally, and also to the rest of his team.

I had problems with my shoulder which meant that I couldn't raise my arm above waist level. This was impacting on my whole life, especially interacting with my grandchildren. Mr Makki and his team recommended day surgery to correct the problem. Before surgery Mr Makki made sure that I understood that I would have some pain in the joint for up to 12 months, and that I would need to attend physiotherapy. I am now three months post surgery and, whilst I do have some pain it isn't as severe as before and I can already raise my arm above my head. I also found that Mr Makki, and his team, were very approachable and I was made to feel at ease. He gave time to answer all of my questions. I am very grateful to Mr Makki and his team.

Mr Makki is very understanding and listens to what you have to say and gives you honest and encouraging advice. I can't praise him enough for the outcome of my operation and the follow up care I received.

In my first appointment with Mr Makki, he gave me a very full and honest appraisal of my shoulder problems. He discussed the technical issues and options and explained clearly what he could do to help. A cortisone injection given with great skill into the joint solved my immediate pain and immobility issues. I have now been able to delay surgery hopefully for a few years. At a recent follow up appointment Mr Makki was friendly and informative and I have great confidence in his clinical judgements. I feel that he really has my best interests in mind and he is careful to explain the pros and cons of any treatment. It feels like a conversation with an expert friend rather than a lecture from a consultant.

I have suffered with pain in my hands, and have been a patient of Mr Makki for the past 18 months. He performed surgery on my hand in March this year and the pain has completely gone. I found him over this time to be helpful, friendly and explained throughout the process what was happening and how it would affect me really well. I completely trust his opinion and cannot thank him enough for the difference his care has made. Thank you
