I was slightly shocked to recently discover I had rapidly developing cataract in both eyes, but 4 months later with both eyes very successfully treated I am so grateful for the expert and kind care I experienced from Prof Ganchi as an NHS patient at The Yorkshire Clinic. He explained the condition and the treatment options really clearly, and I felt fully involved in the decision-making. The nursing team were fantastic too, explaining what was happening every step of the way and all with warmth and kindness. Even though I had complete confidence in him, I still felt quite nervous when it came to my first operation - the notion of being wide-awake when someone operates on your eye is a bit strange! I felt the team completely understood this and they did everything they could to reassure me and keep me relaxed and calm. It was a totally painless procedure and the care was outstanding. I was given clear, easy to follow advice on aftercare and was amazed how quickly I recovered and how good my vision was. A few weeks later it was back for round two and this time I recovered even quicker, and the same top class experience. I’ve just had it confirmed today that I don’t need glasses at all - despite having astigmatism, which I knew meant this might not be achieved, that is in fact the outcome - it could not be better. If anyone needed an ophthalmologist I would have no hesitation in recommending Prof Ganchi and the team at the Yorkshire Clinic!
