At 48 years of age, I was very apprehensive at the thought of having cataract surgery, in fact I felt physically sick! Like many individuals, the thought of having your eyes being operated on fills you with dread, however I needn't have worried. Professor Ghanchi put me at ease completely from my very first appointment, during which it was identified that I actually had cataract in both eyes. He has a very reassuring manner about him and is such a gentleman. Many other reviewers have already commented about how he takes the time to get to know you as a person, and listens to your concerns and alleviates any fears. Professor Ghanchi knew I was extremely nervous, but we talked throughout my procedure, he helped me to relax and before I knew it, it was over ! I was well prepped when I returned less than 3 months later for my second procedure. Although the end result of my first procedure didn't quite go according to plan, instead of distance vision, I had near vision. Professor Ghanci was extremely apologetic over the outcome, however I couldn't be happier with the end result. I could still see, I hadn't lost my sight and I now find myself in the fortunate position of having the best of both worlds, dual vision, which means I have been able to stop using any form of glasses or contact lens, for distance or reading. I cannot praise Professor Ganchi and all the team at The Lodge for their professionalism, their camaraderie and for making me feel so welcome. I highly recommend Professor Ganchi and would not hesitate in referring family or friends that may require treatment in the future.
