This man is a bungler and a waste of time. I have a history of sleep apnea and nasal polyps. I get intermittent blockages of my left nasal passage that no amount of mometazone spray will cure. I keep getting different opinions from NHS doctors. So I decided to pay for a private second opinion from Mr Grant in the hope I would finally get a definitive opinion. My hopes soon faded. Mr Grant spent most of the appointment interrogating me about the entire history of my nose going back 20+ years. I wanted was him to examine my nose and form his own opinion. Having learnt from me the opinion of my senior consultant (which is "sorry there is nothing we can do"), he only regurgitated that opinion. He had not familiarized himself with my case before I arrived. He did not even know that I had asked for my scans to be sent across to him so that they would be available at the appointment. He informed me that my nose is not deviated when I have had it confirmed by 2 consultants that it is partially deviated. He recommended Otrivine when I have been addicted to Otrivine and I know the full congestive effects of "rebound" narrowing my nasal passages. He carried out a limited endoscopic investigation. He did not push the endoscope up further than the middle turbinate and then proclaimed there was nothing that could block my left nasal passage, when I know is blocks. Only 3 months before an NHS registrar explained that I have a polyp and adhesion blocking my left nasal passage which could b easily removed (something denied by my NHS consultant). Mr Grant saw no polyps when I have been shown the polyps on the scan he was looking at. This entire experience cost £565.
