I was referred to Mr Will Aston following a procedure to remove what was believed to be a harmless cyst from my forearm but subsequently proved to be a soft tissue sarcoma. At my first meeting with Mr Aston he showed me the result of the MRI scan on my forearm and he explained in great detail what was now required and the future treatment. A large area of my forearm needed to be removed to ensure the clearance of the sarcoma and that reconstructive surgery would be required and possible radiotherapy. Mr Aston was extremely patient and was very reassuring. He referred me to another excellent surgeon for the reconstruction. An appointment was made for me at the Wellington Hospital at St. John's Wood for Mr Aston and his excellent team to carry out the first of these operations. I was seen by Mr Aston and his anaesthetist prior to the procedure and by Mr Aston following the operation when he confirmed it had all gone well. A surgical pump was fitted during the operation and Mr Aston carried out a second procedure a week later for the routine replacement the pump. Throughout my treatment by Mr Aston he has been extremely friendly, patient, professional and helpful and I would have no hesitation in recommending him in the future. I am pleased to confirm that I will continue to be Mr Aston's patient for future check-ups.
