Before the Pandemic I was in so much pain in my right hip. I had an X-ray and Physio plus pain meds. Symptoms of osteoarthritis were diagnosed. The NHS waiting list in 2019 meant a long wait. I continued physio and exercises walking with a hiking pole. There was no improvement. I rang the NHS electronic referral Dept in Hampshire to try and find out how long it would take to see a consultant. They said 2 years and so I made an appointment privately to see Mr Bryant-Evans. I have never looked back. Toby is a very kind and caring surgeon who always puts you at ease. The X-Rays showed multiple cysts around the right hip joint which were not identified earlier and he recommended a full hip replacement. This was done at the Hampshire Clinic under sedation with a spinal block so no general anaesthetic to recover from which was brilliant. I was up walking the next day and went home that afternoon. I have had a great recovery and can now walk well without a pole and no pain. Unfortunately my left hip was bone on bone and I had to have this one replaced last January 2023. This has recovered well too after one overnight stay and I am now back swimming the crawl mainly walking my dog enjoying my garden and cooking again. As well as a lovely holiday in Greece. I cannot express enough how well I was looked after at the Hampshire Clinic by Toby and his team. Many thanks Louise Jepson Hartley Wintney
