I suffer from Parkinson’s disease which I was finding very life limiting, due to the symptoms and the drugs I was being prescribed. I was put forward for DBS by my neurologist Dr Gregory of Poole, to whom I will be eternally grearful for the opportunity, regardless of the Final outcome, along with the whole team behind him, are ancredit to there profession. I have had my implants put in on 2nd May 2018 by prof Aziz and his team. The operation as far as I am concerned was a complete success. The whole team that looked after me where fabulous, putting me and my wife at ease. I am returning on 5th June to have the implants activated. If the results are as good as the teams of Dr Gregory and Prof Aziz, who came to see me on several occasions prior to and after the operation, then I’m going to be one happy man, with some of the old me back. Although I know that there will probably not be a cure for Parkinson’s in my lifetime, the treatment to relieve the symptom of myself and other like me are life changing and I thank all those, Prof Aziz, Dr Gregory and the nurses and doctors that have helped me regain, I hope some of my old life back.
