It was with some intrepidation I contemplated having DBS. However, the first time I met Prof Aziz and he introduced me to his Team and he explained the procedure in detail and possible outcome I felt reassured and was happy to know I was a suitable candidate. It was also apparent how well respected he is with everyone I met. The operation date was set but due to lack of staff and beds I had to return home. Prof Aziz came to see me and apologised and could tell how sorry and embarassed he was. He didn’t need to do and could’ve left it to someone else. Sure enough the following week I returned and had the op. All went smoothly and I was home within 24 hours! I returned on 28th to be switched on and Prof Aziz came in on his day off especially to see me as I had expressed some concerned with tethering. He checked me over and suggested an alternative rather than opening the wound. I went away feeling reassured and happier. I3 weeks after surgery and I am thrilled with the outcome and cannot praise Prof Aziz enough. For his caring manner, expertise and aftercare (on his day off at Xmas time) he is amazing and would highly recommend him and his Team.
