Just wanted to leave a review to encourage other Patients to seek a 2nd opinion and potentially travel if it means that a better service and diagnosis can be made. I had started to have pain in my right hip from approximately November 2021. There were periods where the hip was sore all the time, worse bending over or ignited with twisting ar the hip The pain would reach the iliac bone and trochanter levels. When I had an X Ray and MRI scan in Belfast I was only given a diagnosis of bilateral trochanteric syndrome. There was no treatment plan, no further recommendation. I decided to go to London to have a 3D CT scan done that would be a recreation of my hips put into 3D from every angle. With this technology I was given a diagnosis of bilateral hip Impingement and CAM lesions, pincer Impingement. I do have a treatment plan now under a London hip Orthopaedic Surgeon. What is disappointing is that Belfast did not offer this service at the Ulster Independent Clinic. Essentially my treatment stopped there. I don't think their technology and training is on a par with the rest of the UK. I therefore advise people to push for a 2nd opinion and don't believe because 1 Consultant can't see your condition that you don't have a condition which could be treated. I have not been impressed with the Ulster Independent Clinic, I don't rate the experience on par with NHS Specialist Care.
