Dr Lee appreciated my circumstances and offered my operation on a private basis or via the NHS. He was very clear about the choice of cost vs waiting time. He clearly explained the processes required if I chose the NHS route. At no time did he make me feel inferior, having chosen the NHS path.
Dr Lee clearly explained 2 options for the types of operations I could have. One operation was less major but with benefits in the shorter term only; the other choice of surgery was more risky as it was more complicated; however he explained the long term benefits of the more major operations. He allowed me to choose.
When my operation was delayed due to Covid-19, he personally kept in touch with me, giving me possible options for me to weigh up the risks. I very much appreciated that. This was via the NHS route.
