Operation November 2022: After suffering from Achilles Tendinopathy for 2 years I was recommended to see Mr Freeman due to his skill at performing "Dorsally Based Closing Wedge Osteotomy of the Calcaneus". Mr Freeman explained the operation before and the post operative recovery. Surgery was performed as a day patient at Spire Gatwick Hospital (a great hospital) Mr Freeman and his team were great and the operation went smoothly. Almost no pain and just had a few days of anti inflammatory tablets. I had a follow up 6 weeks later to confirm heel bone had healed and I could start running after a further 8 weeks. I started running 26th March, 2 miles and no pain in heel. I am now running 8 miles long run and 16 miles per week with no pain. The stiffness and soreness is almost completely gone. An amazing operation from a fantastic surgeon.
