Both the doctor and the nursing staff involved kept me fully informed throughout the procedure, providing welcome reassurance at those key moments where it was most appropriate, and in sync with the internal activity taking place inside my colon. If I didn’t know different I would swear that they were undergoing exactly the same investigative procedure simultaneously as mine, given the timing of their commentary!
Having now experienced a water assisted colonoscopy in 2021, I can speak favourably on the experience when compared to that of the air assisted colonoscopy I had back in 2016.
Whilst there was some cramping, it was minimal in comparison to the extent I endured previously; although it should be said that I was able to complete both procedures without the need for either sedation or support from gas and air.
