I was admitted to Worcester Royal Hospital as an emergency with an unstable trimalleolar fracture to my right ankle and transferred to Mr Kugan as the foot and ankle specialist. A nurse myself, and a normally active person I am not a good patient and struggled to cope with the serious nature of the injury, the length of recovery time and its impact on my daily life. Mr Kugan carried out my surgery. He has listened to all my concerns and gone to great lengths to explain the rationale for protracted treatment and recovery, however unpalatable that has been for me to hear. He is patient and empathetic and has seen me personally at every review. I have full confidence in him and his ability to ensure my eventual full recovery.
