I had closed rhinoplasty in march 2023 after never having any surgery before and I’m really happy with my results even though I’m only 10 weeks post op. I felt like I wasn’t pressured into the surgery at all it was more the other way around, which I liked as I didn’t want a surgeon trying to convince me or push me into booking the surgery. Peter was really chilled about the whole thing, he hand drew my nose told me how it would look and I was happy with that. I wanted it to be as natural as possible and wanted it to look like the nose I could of been born with, and what I ended up having done was very small alterations to give me a perfect nose for my face. I was absolutely terrified going into the surgery almost shaking with nerves but all the staff were exceptionally lovely and reassuring I can’t rate them enough. When I woke up I felt terrible, but Peter came through straightaway to tell me he was really happy with how the surgery went and he was confident I would love it. I felt really sick after being transferred into a recliner and I had to have some anti sickness medication so I could dip some digestives in my cup of tea to eat. Reality is you can’t really eat at all with how limited your movement is in your face. I had no pain, just discomfort from the pressure of swelling and the face cast. I was discharged after 4 hours and felt much perkier with my boyfriend laughing at how bad I looked. You definitely need a nurse maid for the first 4-5 days, the pain kicks in day 3/4 for me but trying to sleep was awful. My nose gel stents fell out of day 5 into my Greek yogurt, so the swelling seemed to go down fairly quickly, or so I thought. The face cast was awful and itchy and very uncomfortable but my dog banged my face a few times so I was great full for it being there. It fell off after 2 weeks and 6 days, I wasn’t meant to have it removed until 3 1/2 weeks but I’d had some wine and the already loose tape just came off in my sleep and I didn’t bother putting it back on. I really got a good look at the shape at this point even though there was tape over my nose that I was too scared to remove, I instantly loved it but it was still very swollen. There was random lumps and bumps everywhere when I touched it, and it was really sore but I tried not to panic too much and kept telling myself your not even a month post op yet stop over thinking it. I saw Peter and he took the remaining tape off my nose and said it looked like it was healing well, the inside of my nose was very very sore and full of bogies which was awful, the stitches were also slightly visible on one side but they take a few months to dissolve so I had to just wait for those to go once the inside healed. I’ve been for my final appointment today 10 weeks after surgery and it is still hard and stiff so got some more healing to do, there was a lump like a pea on one side that I was really worried about 4-8 weeks post op but it’s gone down dramatically in the last week and it’s barely visible now so you just need to give it plenty of time to heal. I’m over the moon with the finished look and would definitely recommend Peter.

Didn't want to leave a bad review, but after seeing 3 more surgeons who all agreed my nose had been botched by Peter Hodgkinson, I decided to not let Peter touch my nose again, and I had to get a revision from else where. My new surgeon, who said he cut out a marble size of scar tissue, couldn't believe my before and after photos with Peter. I was stuck with a botched nose for over a year. Peter gaslit me and told me he didn't see what I was talking about, and that my nose was lovely and suited me. Even though he left me with a bump on one side of my nose, and cartilage that was higher than the bone on my bridge. After follow up consultations, I had a final video call with him, because I just needed to make sure he really was sticking with his story. I touched my nose and moved my tip upwards to show him, how much it had dropped and how he had left me with a very full and scarred columella (which I didn't have before). He then proceeded to gaslight me, asking "do you touch your nose a lot, do you spend a lot of time in front of the mirror, because on this video call you have touched your nose a lot" and tried to convince me and manipulate me into thinking it is all in my head. His stitches were messy, and he made me wear a cast for a month.... yes a month. One surgeon said he must be a sadist. I showed him a photo of the cast (it went over my forehead, and my tear ducts of my eyes) and he was disgusted. I had a very nice supra tip break before my surgery with Peter, but he left me with a snub nose, and a very odd shaped bridge. Overall horrible experience, and his secretary is an absolute nightmare to get a hold of. My revision was done by an Oxford and Kings College London educated surgeon, who fellowed all over the world and specialises in rhinoplasty. I now have the nose I should have been given by Peter. There are no refunds in plastic surgery, and I am now over 9k out of pocket, but I just hope my review can help someone out there make a better decision. He should stick to breast augmentation, he would tell me "no surgeon does as many rhinoplasties as me" and try convince me he was best to do my revision. But he does not specialise in it, he is just a basic NHS plastic surgeon with underwhelming credentials. He has been to Bucharest to help children who were disfigured, and I am sure he is an expert in that field, but noses? no. He did not take any before or after photos, the most he did was draw my nose on some paper, promise to do what I wanted, then fast forward a month later, and I have a sharp bump on my bridge and a very odd looking nose that looked terrible on my facial structure. If you are thinking of going to Peter, go see an expert instead, they will take photos of you before, and will show you what they can do and will actually take the time to understand what you want. Peter actually told me "don't have a clear idea of what you want or what your nose will look like". He had convinced me that I couldn't have an idea of what I wanted and that its not possible or logical to go in with a pre conceived idea of what you want. That is insane now I look back on it, I am absolutely devastated that I went through this, and the last year and a half with my botched nose was horrible. If you want a simple septoplasty, go for it. But this is not the surgeon for you if you want an expert.
