Mr Kumar performed my first (right) knee total replacement on 22 May 2019, I followed all instructions to the letter and did my physio as directed. From the first moment I met Mr Kumar I felt that this guy knew what he was doing and boy my instincts were spot on. I made a full, infection free recovery in 12 weeks post op.
I kept away from hospitals during the Pandemic but once I felt that it was safe to return, I contacted BUPA direct and asked that I keep the same surgeon for my second(left) knee total replacement. I explained over the phone to BUPA that I felt safe in this guy's care, together with the same anaesthetist and they said OK.
Happily, again all went well, The Blackheath Hospital were again impressive and again 12 weeks later I am walking upright, no pain, legs feel strong just waiting for the swelling to the left knee to completely go, but this may take several months.
Both knees were bone on bone situations but now I actually feel like a new man.
