I went to see Mr Liantis and his team to explore the option of corrective surgery for a spinal condition that has ruined my physical and mental wellbeing. Mr Liantis refused to operate on me, was not interested in anything I had to say, and has now essentially condemned me to suffer for the rest of my life. I found his approach to be extremely patronising and brusque. I would request to see another specialist if you have the displeasure of being referred to him. Not that anyone else at Guy's Hospital is much help.

Response from Mr Panagiotis Liantis

It is absolutely understandable to be unhappy with the professional opinion not to have the surgery you wanted in Guys Hospital. The opinion is based on clinical and radiological evidence and has also be supported by a Multidisciplinary Team Meeting (Spinal Consultants, Consultant Radiologists, Consultant Physiotherapist etc.). I was always honest with you but you are still upset as nobody in my department is supporting a surgical solution in your condition. We have explained to you that you could have a second opinion by another spinal surgeon from a different hospital and that your are entitle to request a second opinion by your GP.
