I had surgery in Brighton after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, later, after later pathology found to be a glioblastoma the most malignant brain tumour with a very short life expectancy, regardless of treatment . Mr Haliasos gave me confidence to undergo what was immediate surgery overnight after transfer from East Surrey immediately after initial diagnosis showing a mass in my temporal lobe. He explained the immense risks of the surgery but I came through surgery as well as could be expected with no major long-term deficits. That I am still alive and still gaining strength and mobility over two years later is great testimony to his surgical skill. When I asked, before surgery, the obvious question of whether he’d done it before, he made it clear it was all he did. That reassurance and his manner gave me the courage to endure what was to be five hours of surgery, on a Friday afternoon. I still have the greatest confidence in his skill, his manner and his abilities and wish him success through his career
