After copious amounts of research into cosmetic surgeons I decided upon Mr Caver for my 'tummy tuck' procedure. Not only is he registered with BAPRAS and BAAPS, he is also on the GMC Special Register and the Royal College of Surgeons certified cosmetic surgeon list. This along with previous patients results and feedback gave me the reassurance and confidence that he was the man for the job. From the moment I met Mr Carver I was put at ease. In the consultation we went through why I was there and what sort of results I wanted and what sort of results I could expect. He made sure to go through every point including what, if any, possible side effects there might be. I was very well informed and felt I could ask any questions I needed to. After a good in depth discussion I decided to go ahead with the abdominoplasty and booked in for Hatfield One. On the morning of the surgery Mr Carver came in and we went through everything we needed to again. As well as being very informative and clear Mr Carver has a very good, calming bedside manner. Which I must admit, I appreciated as I was a little nervous to say the least. The surgery itself went well and Mr Carver visited me back on the ward to explain what had been done and how the procedure went. I also had a follow up appointment with him 8 weeks after surgery to see how things were progressing. In between these appointments I was still able to contact him and his team, or the hospital directly if any issues arose, which thankfully they didn't. Before surgery I had a lot of loose skin from weight loss, plus some unevenness and scarring due to a previous operation....but the results (and my stomach) are absolutely fantastic! The loose skin has completely gone and with it went the scarring too. I've been left with a very toned and flat stomach. There is still some residual swelling in a couple of places but I was expecting that as it's quite normal with this type of procedure and it takes a few months to settle completely. Even so I can still see how utterly fantastic the results are and I'm extremely happy I did my research/homework and opted for Mr Carver....Which was a no brainier really! In fact I'm so happy with his handiwork I'm due to see him again in a few weeks time for a combined breast augmentation and mastopexy.
