I received a letter dated May 21st 2021, ref:1059105, referring me to Miss. H Jefferis’ Gynaecology clinic on August 11th at 2pm. After a telephone conversation on April 8th with Dr. Van Stigt she led me to believe that my appointment on August 11th would be for advice and instruction on physiotherapy exercises to improve my pelvic floor muscles and bladder control. In actual fact I had a consultation with Mr. Matthew Izett-Kay who said he had never heard of Dr. Van Stygt. He carried out a detailed interview about my medical history, followed by an internal examination. He then reviewed the options for going forward, mentioning physiotherapy, which I had gone there for in the first place. My consultation was perfectly satisfactory, but I felt a bit puzzled about what sort of appointment I had been given.
