Matay Arsan operated on my left thumb to treat osteoarthritis which I had been suffering from for over 10 years. He removed the decayed bone on both sides of the affected joint and inserted a prosthesis, an artificial ball and socket joint. I had been very apprehensive about any intervention and was nervous about the efficacy of the outcome. However, from the very beginning, Matay gave me confidence and reassurance. He is a senior surgeon who has great expertise and he made me feel confident in what he could do and what the outcome would be. Matay also showed true care for me and took care to listen to what I wanted. The outcome has been fantastic. I have freedom of movement in my hand and no pain. My left hand is as good as it was before I had arthritis. It is clear that Matay really cares about his patients and has checked in with me frequently, even in his own time by zoom, to make sure that my hand was progressing well following the surgery. I cannot recommend Matay highly enough. As well as being a top consultant, he is a lovely man.
