Admitted as emergency trauma with complex right sided pelvic fracture extending to the acetabular surface, after a falling from my cycle.
He explained the options for treatment and the consequences/potential outcomes for each option and the reasons for the chosen treatment.
I felt involved in this decision.
Throughout my 4 and half week stay in hospital, of which 4 weeks was on skeletal traction, he and his team kept me appraised of ongoing treatments.
The traction meant I was unable to move from the bed, but the updates on treatment, recovery prognosis and care given made this tolerable.
6 months after my accident, having followed his guidance and advice, I am fully mobile and back to cycling.
