My husband had 2 cataracts and two detached retinas ... all appearing at virtually the same time,to say it was a traumatic time was an understatement to say the least...Mr Herbert was without doubt the most caring empathetic and understanding Consultant we have ever met. He took total control of my husbands surgeries ,performing the majority of them himself, always being upfront and honest with us regarding the outcome.We cannot speak highly enough of his wonderful skill, and down to earth persona, never making you feel as though you couldnt ask questions if you didnt quite understand something .. my husband has recovered now thank the lord, but we were blessed to have Mr Herbert and his dedicated team around when this terrible situation occurred.. Many thanks to all the amazing staff at East Surrey Hospital..
