I am 32 and was first seen by Mr Borase 6 months ago when I found out I had an ectopic pregnancy. Mr Borase gave practical advice in terms of initially dealing with the ectopic pregnancy and subsequent fertility investigations as I was concerned around future fertility after having had the ectopic. My ectopic was successfully treated with two rounds of methotrexate under the care of Watford EPU. After 3 months we were ready to try again and I went back to Mr Borase for follow up consultation to discuss my concerns and as I was still experiencing pain on my ectopic side. Mr Borase proposed an initial scan (performed by himself) to make an initial assessment. At this scan he noted I had a low follicle count and potential signs of endometriosis. Due to the low follicle count Mr Borase recommended a 'Full MOT' laparoscopy to evaluate endometriosis and tube patency. For me the laparoscopy was a very straightforward procedure and Mr Borase was able to identify and treat stage 2 endometriosis and check my tubes confirming that they were not blocked. Mr Borase advised to try naturally to conceive for 3 months and consider IVF after 3 months as better to start sooner rather than later with low follicle count. What we really appreciated about Mr Borase was that at each stage he presented me with a plan that gave us options in terms of diagnostics and treatment. Mr Borase presented these options without causing undue panic that we would not be able to conceive naturally but as a way for me to increase my chances to conceive. We have just found out we are pregnant my first cycle after the laparoscopy with Mr Borase and whilst it is early days we are extremely grateful for the help and support of Mr Borase and his team in getting this far!
