I saw Mr Janakan for an in-person consultation. He analysed the lipoma I presented with and summarised its status and options for what could happen next. He offered two next steps, what each would mean and potential prognosis. One suggestion on the latter point, is to stress more the potential prognosis - as a lay person, I felt I had to try and work out the pros and cons of each option related to the potential prognoses. I next saw Mr Janakan as part of my surgical team when I chose the surgical option. I saw him pre op, and then post op to advise follow up care. In all interactions, I felt he treated me with respect, listened to me, asked questions, and gave informed options for me to make a decision with. In summary, I found him to be personable and professional. Should I ever need his medical expertise in the future, I would feel reassured being under his care.
