Before I present my review please may I be permitted to give a brief timeline background prior to the first consultation with Mr Bishay. In December 2017, my wife Brenda had a chest infection, which over the course of several months, affected a nerve in her neck which caused her diaphragm ( right side ) to rise up thereby making her breathing extremely laboured. From February to April 2018 our G.P. promptly actioned all necessary appointments at various hospitals, and tests, procedures etc., were carried out. In June, we saw a consultant physician ( respiratory ), who informed us that nothing could be done, but we would be contacted re arranging breathing exercises in 2--3 months time. This was devastating news-- but we decided not to accept the "verdict". However through a close friend, we contacted a secretary at the Priory ( BMI ) Hospital, who arranged a consultation with Dr I M Ismail ( Respiratory Consultant ). He informed us that an operation COULD be performed, and consequently arranged for us to see Mr Bishay ( Cardiothoracic Consultant Surgeon ). Wonderful ! -- despair to hope ! After two consultations arrangements were made for the operation. Unfortunately, it was not possible for it to take place within the NHS as the waiting time would be at least 6 months. Brenda's operation was carried out on 29th November, 2018 and was a complete success. That major fact, plus the advice from Mr Bishay regarding essential breathing exercises should enable Brenda to make a good recovery. We are so VERY thankful to Mr. Bishay for his considerable skills, knowledge and expertise, making it possible for a life to be lived with quality once more. Greatly appreciated too, have been his sensitive care and kindness throughout -- in consultations, in the hospital (pre and post op), and since coming home as well. We can't praise him too highly. Keith Hall.
