Like previous reviewers, my family and I were devastated to be told that I had lung cancer, it’s very difficult to be positive even if that’s your natural way of thinking. After being in the system for a couple of months I think I was on the verge of depression, then the confirmation that the cancer had not spread and that curative surgery was an option, wow, then the news that I was being referred to this chap called Mr Bishay!(I should wow again) I have to say that in my minds eye now, Mr Bishay is little short of godlike in status! On the first consultation, whilst his demeanour is majestically calm, he is totally honest, says things exactly as they are even if you don’t really want to hear them. But how committed is he to your wellbeing, you get the survival stats n the like but he gives you belief in both your ability to overcome and his to provide and my lord does he provide!! I’m told that I am one of Mr Bishay’s more challenging patients, surgery that should have been 3/4 hrs extended to 6+, my lung and tumour weighing in at a massive 3.1kg was removed with Mr Bishay safely delivering me to ITC a lot later than planned. My wife and children were waiting anxiously and as soon as ITC staff took delivery of me, Mr Bishay was with my family with his calming demeanour (albeit a very tired one) giving them the reassurance that, whilst difficult, the surgery had been successful! He attended me every day prior to my discharge and again, what an attentive, caring and calmly efficient being!!! My road to full recovery is just beginning, but if you are lucky enough to be referred to Mr Bishay, you could not be in better hands!
