Operated on September 2nd 2019. Initially diagnosed with prostate cancer subsequent further investigations proved I was diagnosed with lung cancer which had to take priority (both primaries). On researching consultants Mr Bishay rose-up to the top of my list. Following introduction and a first consultancy we (wife and myself) immediately knew he was the correct choice. From this first consultation his ease of communicating direct core information and the timely vital care plan put in place he gave us full confidence. However what really impressed was that even under these times of known stressed resource his networking of skilled colleagues meant that the whole process from diagnosis through biopsy, surgery and recovery was very quick and appeared seamless. Mr Bishay and his team performed the VATs lobectomy at the Priory Hospital, Edgbaston and three days later I was back home able to rely upon paracetamol only. Probably could have gone home sooner but reluctant following such major surgery. General recovery was incredibly quick. We cannot thank Mr Bishay and his team of skilled professionals enough. Final note a big thank you to Hartlands Hospital. If only all the other hospitals I have visited through my illness had such great friendly and accommodating staff it would almost be a pleasure to be ill. Thank you Mr Hussain (biopsy) all of the staff and your colleagues at Hartlands Hospital, Birmingham.
