I met Dr Bodansky on the day of surgery and he was immediately engaging and friendly. He listened to my concerns and responded in a kind and caring manner. His theatre team were professional and compassionate. I have no reservations about the care I received so my suggestions are about admin aspects. As a patient it would be helpful to have some idea of your place in the queue and when you might be seen. Also, the need to wait for a prescription of painkillers delayed my discharge by four hours or so. Can this process not be speeded up by issuing a prescription to be fulfilled at any chemist? It was a routine painkiller so imagine readily available. It seemed an unnecessary wait for me as well as the staff waiting to close up the ward, I would also suggest a FAQs sheet be issued or link to advice about post op care. You don’t always take in what you’re being told in the hospital.
