I have diabetic retinopathy and have been treated by injection for many years. I developed cataracts which effectively ruined my remaining vision. Mr Jalil operated several months apart under local anaesthetic and both showed no problems afterwards other than the expected reaction of the retinopathy which has largely recovered. Mr Jalil listened, explained and reassured throughout my consultations and did a fantastic job. I have decided to see him yearly to get a check on the state of the new lenses and the possible need for extra treatment of my general eye condition. I actually feel someone is looking after me and trust his judgement and advice implicitly. A hats off also to his secretary Cathy who is really helpful and very kind.

Mr Jalil is a true professional, having received advanced cataract surgery Mr Jalil clearly mapped out the process for me and all the steps required to complete the procedure. He gave me back one of life’s senses for which I’m very grateful. I have no hesitation recommending him.

Not only a great surgeon (working miracles on the eye), but a great team. I had vitro-macular traction (not yet a hole) and i wanted to arrest its worsening. Luckily someone in the know recommended Assad Jalil. My first contact was with his PA, Cathy and she communicated with Mr Jalil even though he was on holiday! She was always available to help with mad questions. I also got the benefit of Dr Parvan Kochhar as the anaesthetist. He explained to me that the local anaesthetic, didn't mean that only the eye was put out of action but that i would not feel a thing with the operation. He also explained the dangers of a general anaesthetic. This helped enormously and i could hear what was going on through the op, and even speak, but i didn't feel and thing and i was well sedated. A brilliant job from the whole team. I am just 4 days after the op, but i the operation was a success. Highly recommend Assad Jalil and his team.

I was referred to Mr Jalil with a diagnosis of an epithelial retinal membrane in my dominant eye which made reading very difficult. My local hospital gave me the option of onward referral or just out patient follow up. Naturally I wanted to see if anything could be done. Mr Jalil was very definate that he could help. I had the operation under local anaesthetic and he was very reassuring throughout the procedure. My reading is back to normal. I had waited months for a diagnosis and elected to pay to have the procedure done quickly, but it could have been done on the N.H.S. A very skilful surgeon with good communication skills.

Mr Jalil was very definate about being able to help when I developed an epithelial retinal membrane in my dominant eye that made reading very difficult. This contrasted with my local hospital who gave me a choice of onward referral to Mr Jalil or follow up in out patients. Mr Jalil did a great job and my reading is back to normal. He is very caring, explained the procedure well and instilled confidence during the surgery under local anaesthetic.
