Andrew Duncan (and team) carried out a complicated 10 hour open heart surgery on my wife as an emergency on 22 Aug 2014. He was clear about what he was about to attempt and the dangers & possible outcomes. His calm manner and clear delivery of a complicated subject were most helpful.
For the next 20 days in Queen Victoria Hospital after the successful operation, he kept in touch with my wife regularly, and also with me, to ensure we were happy with progress. He took time to ensure everything was going well.
The organisation of his team is to be commended along with the skill and care of the cardiac nurses.
He and his team are true heroes of the NHS.
